Top 10 Kids Ministry Worship Resources

There are tons of great worship collections out there for “adult” worship.  But what about the kids?  It can be difficult to find good worship music that can be used as corporate praise songs for the kids.  Some groups out there have done an effective job of writing music that is theologically sound and kid-appropriate.

For the sake of creating a boundary for this list, I’m going to define “worship music” here as music that is specifically written for corporate singing in a worship setting for kids (i.e. Sunday morning worship, camp worship, etc.).  I understand that “worship” is really much broader than that, but I’m trying to separate out song albums that just don’t fit the Sunday morning kids singing time.

This list of 10 groups/individuals who put out great kids worship music is in no particular order:

  • Hillsong Kids – Cutting edge live kids worship recordings from Australia with both upbeat and slower songs.
  • Uncle Charlie – Very catchy sing-a-long worship good for toddlers through youth.
  • Shout Praises K!ds – High quality music sung by kids and adult leaders with a wide spread of familiar mainstream worship songs.
  • Jagee – Upbeat kid-friendly style worship with a leader with a genuine heart for ministry, especially to girls and women, Jagee Melton.
  • Yancy – Spunky rock-type worship for kids of all ages with Yancy Richmond.
  • Psalty – Classic kids worship from the 70’s and 80’s that is timeless in both lyrics and music.  Brought to you by Ernie and Debbie Retino.
  • Ka*Pop – Creative, quality men’s trio using fun music and videos for worship.
  • Worship Together for Kids – Studio cuts of kids leading many familiar contemporary worship songs.
  • Ronnie Caldwell – The famous “God’s Not Dead” song for kids says it all.  Don’t miss the “remix” of the same song.
  • Brent Weber – Jesus, the Bible, and craziness brought to you with a dose of Star Wars and Batman humor, including the kid-favorite “The Beaver Song.”

  1. Worship – We want children to feel they belong in the worshipping community. Their ability to experience God’s presence is not limited to their ability to understand everything that is going on around them. At very early ages, they find meaning in different aspects of the service. Children are regularly involved as participants and leaders in worship. They lead songs and moving prayers, help interpret scripture, and serve as liturgists and acolytes. Young children often dance in the aisles during the gathering music to celebrate the beginning of church service.
