Wall Demo Before and After

We are officially redoing the kitchen.  This is a FULL remodel.  We bought the house as a fixer-upper and got a good price because of that.  The kitchen was the worst room in the house, and we have put up with it for a year and a half and now we are ready to do it.  We’re about halfway through the preliminary stage, which includes demo of the wall between the kitchen and dining room, demo of the other walls down to the studs, and then the plumbing and electrical rough-ins (which happen this week!).

We expect to finish by the end of March.  Until then, we are staying with my parents out in Goochland County so the baby can be far from the construction mess and noise (and so we can have a working kitchen during this period).

The first two shots are before the wall demo and after the wall demo, then some other demo shots:

  • From the Lips of Children

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, the day of the Christian calendar where we celebrate the Triumphal Entry, when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey while the crowd shouted “Hosanna!” That means, “Save!” The choice of donkey versus a horse demonstrates that Jesus is the humble king. But there is another detail of this story that…
