Free Classical Music Online

20120917-171329.jpgI’ve recently stumbled upon a rich resource of music from dozens of great classical composers (among other styles of music). All the recordings on this site are free and in the public domain. There are no copyright restrictions either, which means these recordings can be freely used for any purpose anywhere for any reason.

The site is called musopen.org and I have found it helpful as I search for quality royalty-free music that I can use in my juggling show. This music can be used for anything, like your classroom, your movie you’d like to make, or a remix you’d like to create. I especially like some of the songs by Berlioz, Sousa, Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven.

Hey Jesse, Paul from the Club.

Check out incompetech.com. Just used some of his work for a short film, and it is amazing, and diverse, stuff. All he asks is that users spread his name, and give a donation if they so choose. There is a search engine linked toward the top right, and you can search based on style, feel, instrument… It’s my new go-to place for royalty-free music,

Thanks for the tip, Paul. I like knowing where to go for all sorts of royalty free music.

Most bands maintain an online presence where they offer information
on music and tours, and they will sometimes offer free music
there. When you decide to start your career as a music
engineer you will soon discover that in order to get hired some sort of knowledge of the industry and technology is
paramount. Knowing the audience you want to appeal to, the genre of
your music and whether you want to distribute it locally or nationally online is a way to creating the necessary paperwork and contracts to protect you in any potential legal case or
    incident.
